Day 6

day 6...my camera

i am so thankful for my camera that enables me to catch every important event that happens in our life. not only the important events but also the random and silly things that we do or that i secretly catch my kids doing. this camera goes with me EVERYWHERE because i am always amazed at the things that happen daily that i am able to capture! both for the comedy and for the proof that those things actually happen!

let's also say that i am thankful for the digital aspect. remember the pre-digital days? yes. let's just stop right there so that we don't even have to go down that bad memory road of taking horrible pictures that were and are unable to erase.

so yes! hurray for my digital camera and for the visual family journal that it allows us to have!

Day 5

day 5...medicine

i know. what a silly thing to be thankful for but it helps me out daily! it could help me with a headache after a day of a million questions, or it could help some nasty nerve pain, or even help some "ghost" pain that can come on for no reason at all. there are a number of reasons why i am thankful for medicine but the reason why i am mostly thankful for it is because of how it allows me to cope, to live, to function as a positive parent, living every day and doing as much as i possibly can!

Day 4

day 4...music

i love, LOVE, LOVE music! i am thankful to those who have been given the talent to perform music that evokes so much emotion! i am also thankful that my kids have discovered their own love for music. there is nothing that i love more than to sneak up on them, when they are in there own little worlds, just a singing away!

ahhhhhhh...heaven!

Day 3

day 3...adversity and trials

"It is your reaction to adversity,
not adversity itself,
that determines how
your life's story will develop."

~ Dieter F. Uchtdorf

i love this quote and the hope and peace that it brings into my life when i think about the struggles that i've been dealt.

i also know that without the adversity, i'd never have learned the valuable lessons that i have about my personal strength and determination. it has shown me the ability to truly succeed and obtain "my dreams" within this life. anything is possible! without my difficult trials, i'd never have learned how much that i am truly capable of. we're never given more than we can handle.

i have been asked "would i ever take this life and it's issues back?" and my reply was simply "no. no i wouldn't. i am living a great life so why would i?" and i meant it.

so yes, though at times it can suck, i'm thankful for the perspective of the bigger picture and for the trials that it took to get me to that type of understanding.
