One More Thing----

I finally watched the English version of "The Office" and I was laughing hysterically! Tim, Gareth, and David are my favorite even though it was depressing to realize that my work environment is literally just like that. Every person fits/matches an exact character! But still, sooooooo funny so I am going to have to start watching 'our' "The Office"! :)

I know you'll be proud Lyssa!

When I think about Jake.......

Today is my brother Jake's 28th birthday and we all got together for his birthday tonight. My parents got him the one thing that he wanted most....the new X Box! Oh boy!! He will never change!

When I think about Jake, I have to laugh at some pretty funny memories...

Breaking his collar bone when he was 4, getting sprayed down naked in the front yard when we had not listened and had gotten muddy from head to toe and being mortified when we were 7 and 5, Jake getting mad and hitting me so hard that I could not breath and turned purple as he ran up the stairs telling my mom I was dying, game boy battles, texas instraments, being so proud when he lettered as a freshman in all varsity sports, hanging out in highschool, swedish fish, the movie "trains, plains, and automobiles", driving to Virginia, the movies "clue" and "the burbs"....etc etc...

Anyways, Happy Birthday Jake! I love ya and always will no matter how pissed off you make me at times :)

Which one do you think is your favorite?

I could not wait for the kids to come home and see what I had waiting for them! They were so excited, running from one side of the room to the other. It made it all worth it! We had the cousins come down tonight to check it out and Colin had the same reaction....but I had to know which one was their favorite!?!

THIS ONE!

This is Carter's favorite...the swings! This is Kindra's favorite...the horse...of course!

The Best is Yet to Come

My 2 biggest fans, the 2 that I do all that I do for, will be home in a few hours. They have been with their dad this weekend which allowed me to get all of my "boring mom stuff" done but it was not the same with it being so quiet. I miss there talking, screaming, fighting, attitudes, "MOM", their excitement and the noise, and especially their sighed "i love you mom. I can lay in bed until 10 am but I miss them sitting right beside me watching some Little Einsteins episode. I actually don't like hearing the air turn off and on and it just makes me lonely. For as chaotic as it is....it is reality and I love reality. They are my best friends and will always be constant and will never leave me. The grass is always greener on the other side but right now, I love my pasture!

C'est Finis-----

It is all done and I know it is when I start to "become over it" and that happened today! :) I promise that these pics do not give it justice... without the lights, without the movements, or without the sounds! It is so worth it when it is all done, just to sit, watch and listen and take it all in. If I figure out how to make a "movie" and post it, I will, but otherwise here it is! I hope that I did not put too much excitement into it for it to be disappointing but I am who matters the most, and I AM NOT!!

PS Thanks must also go to my Mom for helping me put it all together!

Indoor Phase ONE

Now, when I said that I was finished, I meant the outside but the inside has just begun. This week has been busy outside but also inside was taking shape. We had to bring up 10 bins of Halloween Dept 56 Houses! SOOOO fun! I thought that I would do a before and after shot so that you could see it all in action. Wish me luck! This will be the die hard nightmare weekend of setting it all up but I will not complain because I love it. It allows me to be my true anal self :)

This is the one thing that I truly collect every year that just brings me "joy" and it truly excites me! Sooorry! I guess that I am just way too materialistic but its so fun. You should check out the website...department56.com...just for fun!

Let the Festivities Begin!

Those of you who truly know me, know that Halloween is my favorite holiday! I have been chomping at the bit to begin my Halloween creations. Tonight I decided that I had held out long enough and that it is close enough, especially when I see others putting out their decor. Here are a few pics of what has all ready begun........but has not nearly finished! :)

ELASTIGIRL

I went and spoke to a youth group last night about the word "DISABLED" and what it means to be so or in my case, to NOT be disabled, or so I like to think. I hate to use the word NORMAL but that is what I am...NORMAL...just like everyone else. I can play ball, golf, boat, camp, bungee jump, etc...I can do it all with just a little more thought put into it. Even though I hate to be helped because of my self respect, not pride, but a self respect, I also have to accept it. Especially when the cute elderly couple comes over to me as I am taking my chair out of the car and asks if they can help me.

It made me also think and realize that it could be sooooo worse and that I have to be so thankful for what I do have, for what I can do, for what I can become. I saw a blind woman walking down the sidewalk and thought to myself "See, she can walk but she can't see where she is walking to. You can at least see so quit crying about what you don't have and be proud of what you do".

One of the kids asked me about what I do at the grocery store? I had to laugh as I thought of the juggling acts that I perform and of how I can always find a way to reach things. A friend gave me a nick-name once....Elastigirl....for this purpose alone!

Anyways...Its just been one of those weeks...a good week...a week that has allowed me to think about how lucky I really am. How lucky I am to juggle what I do because it has allowed me to learn and to think about what really is important to me and what will help me to progress.

Elastigirl......:)

A Weekend of Intense Concentration! and Poor Parenting :(

Carter was very, very, very excited that he is officially going to be (or so he thinks) our true lawn mower so he had to show off his skills! It was fun to see him so proud. Now Kindra is more into the sand box and was conentrating very hard on whatever it was that she was creating :)

They have had the infamous summer colds and so ...sorry... I used that as as excuse to sluff church today. I broke down, I know, and then broke down once again and let them create a fort and a "ramp" out of the couch cushions. Sometimes I think that those are the moments that they will most remember and that we have the most fun!!

Growing Up with Monty Python...

As early as I can remember, my childhood included John Cleese whether it was anything to do with Monty Python or Faulty Towers so I was excited when I got the chance to go see "Spamalot"! I am so glad that I did because it was hilarious and reminded me of statements that I had forgotten about that my brother Jake and I used to say to each other in Highschool. I would recomend others going to see it but this past weekend was the end of its showing in SLC so if you "ever" get the chance, definately go!

Just another FUNNY PIC

Carter was very proud of himself on Sunday. He lost another tooth and he gave a great prayer in Primary so we had to take his picture and here it is. Hair done, collar up, a runny nose cause he is sick :( , and a toothless smile! (kind of!)

The Joys of Being a Mom

So...I just need to express some emotions....

One of frustration, one of laughter, and one of reality. I was so confused when I woke up to the sounds of Carter and Kindra screaming at each other and even more confused when I realized that they were in my bed. I looked at the clock...3 am..."why are you two in my bed and why are you fighting?" I can not even tell you what their replies were because I was so exhausted and so completely out of it and just wanted to go back to sleep but I do know that it had to do with being on each others blankets, pillows, and the bothersome touching of legs and arms.

Eventually we did fall back asleep after realizing that they were not going to budge and that there was no point in getting mad. I remember doing the exact same thing to my parents when I was growing up so I know that it just comes with the territory!

I had to take a pic of their "sprawling" to prove my point as I was getting ready for work this morning. Oh the joys of being a mom!! :)

STARDUST...the movie...

We went and saw the movie "Stardust" last night and it was soooo fun! I had seen the previews but did not really care to see it but I am so glad that I did.

It is in a way like the movie "The Princess Bride" so if you liked that movie you will love this! Long story short...go see it! A great date night movie!
PS Robert Di Nero is hilarious!
