GOOD NEWS!!! our doctor, who is awesome, did some extra research and discovered that they would not need to cut any bone to repair the hips, ankles, knees not being aligned problem! this was the best news. the surgery time was not as long, the recovery time would not be as severe, and her pain would be pretty much none. all that they needed to do was to loosen and tighten some ligaments and tendons. then the knee cap would have a proper groove to stay in and not pop out. we hope this will be the last of the surgeries but only time will tell. this was caused because she was born with club feet because she was bascially squished in the womb because of my accident/sitting aspect. my little miracle! (and here is the story if you're new) ***if it looks like i'm being a horrible parent, as i sit back snapping photos of her while she is utterly frustrated, ok. i felt horrible. buuut i had to. she needed some time on her own to learn for herself that she could and can do it. would it be easier if i just "carried" her around? yes. would it just hold her back and never allow her to learn? yes. so here i sat. my heart was in pain. but she learned. and now. she getting on and off things by herself WITHOUT the chair and army crawling it. yeah. she's a tough one and yes. very prideful...just like her mom*** after all of that blaugh surgery stuff, it was time for some FUN!... aaaawwww kin. what would we do without you?! xoxoxoxoxo
i love you two in both of your chairs. how good for her to see what it is like to be mommy. so cute. and btw- she really looks so pretty in all these pictures. she is a cute girl. happy all is well with her recovery...
i suddenly realized that for those who are new to our blog or who don't personally know us, you don't know our "story". in 8/2001, my husband and i were in an auto accident which left me paralyzed from the waist down. a sad incident but an answer to a prayer and the lesson that i needed to get me back to who i really was, back to what we really wanted out of life, and to mold me into who i want to become. to add to the chaos, they also discovered that i was pregnant with our daughter. she was born at 28 wks, weighing 1 lb 12 oz. and was the miracle that we needed to glue our family together. we can't imagine things piecing together any other way. so that's the "story" and where we're currently at in this journey of life towards the greater picture, never taking blessings for granted and by learning day by day as we go along. when asked if i'd ever take back that awful day which changed our lives forever, i simply replied "no. i wouldn't. i've learned so much and we live a great life" and i meant it 100%! this is the challenge that i, that our family, has been given and we're going to continually hit this head on. NEVER GIVING UP and remembering that things happen for a reason, even if we don't understand what that reason may be. "it's all mental and it's all in your attitude" this is a family blog. it's my venting blog. it's my rambling on blog. it's our fun blog. it's our life blog. enjoy!
