The Masterpiece Classics...

If it was not for Lauren, I would never have known about the PBS Masterpiece Classics that they are airing every Sunday night. (times change depending on where you live) The first 3 series are Tess of the d'Urbervilles, Wuthering Heights, and my literal ALL TIME FAVORITE...(MOVIE not book!) , Sense and Sensibility! I am so excited for all of these.

My T-Vo had an issue last Sunday night so I missed the first half of "Tess" and I had a slight panic attack! Lauren saved me by telling me how to download it so I had a late one catching up last night. I did some research and read up a bit on Thomas Hardy's novel which has now become known as one of the great classics of the English literature. If you're interested, you can go over here to learn more about "Tess of the d'Urbervilles. While watching it, there were so many emotions that were going through my mind and there are so many issues that could be discussed. It's that romantic side of me, whether it's the good or the bad qualities that come with it, that I just love!

Seriously...if you have the time and you have the desire? Go and check it out! Go to her "Nothing to do? Watch Tess tonight!" Post and read under the comments section of how to view it. You'll LOVE it!

It's BAAAACK!!!

Yep. Real World Brooklyn. It's back! hehehe :)

ps...how did they possibly manage to cast 2 kids from SLC? one "mormon", one "non-mormon", one trans-gender, one gay, and one bi-sexual? hmmmmm...can you say full forced drama?!?

hehehe we love it!

...and yes. i am admitting that we are hooked!

FYI...Love English History? Read and Watch This...

...and then when you are up for an interesting "movie night"...watch "Elizabeth The Golden Age" with Cate Blanchet and my hottie, Clive Owen :) See what you think. The book and the movie combined, give a different view of what she was actually going through at the time and of all of the different issues, pressures, and responsibilities that she had to endure. A very important and dominant woman yet the part of her that was human and sad, she put on the back burner because she knew of her responsibilities and of her duties to England. Like I said...a very good read and a very good movie that gives one of the most accurate descriptions of what her life was actually like, of what she actually accomplishes, and for her successes as a Queen...the true daughter of Henry VIII! (how ironic is it that out of all of his children...the one that he "banned"...she was the one who truly was "her fathers daughter"?!?) Have fun and let me know what you think and if you're more interested check out here. Honestly...enjoy!

Another Good Old Oprah Moment...

Good old Oprah comes through once again! As I was catching up on yesterday's episode, there was a part that really gave me the tingles. Though she was talking about her body in terms of being overweight, it was something that I needed to hear about her attitude in general...

"2009 is going to be more about joy...having more joy and more balance. I have realized that to "love" yourself is a never ending journey.

My goal is to be healthy. To be strong and fit. One of the things that I've needed to learn is how to embrace this body. I need to embrace the body that I have and to be grateful for what this body has given me. That's where you have to begin because God blessed me with this body. In spite of being exhausted, overwhelmed, not asking for help, and for always having so much to do...MY body still worked for me. My heart still worked for me and for that I am grateful. For that I am truly grateful."

So yeah. I'm going to try to remember this the next time I bitch about "my body". In spite of being exhausted, overwhelmed, not asking for help, and for always having so much nerve pain...MY body still worked for me. MY body still works for me and for that I am truly grateful! For that I will always try to remember.

We're Sledding It This Time...

Before this post starts and so that you are able to fully understand how awesome of an activity that this was...you have to look here first, then here, and then here...OK...so now that you've seen what this place looks like in the summer, you will really understand the history that this place has when it comes to "being an adventurous spot"! And let me tell you...that as fun as it is in the Summer??? It is that much more fun in the Winter! I am serious. Scary on the first run but it gets better and better each time!
...and NO! It's not an easy walk in the park to get up there! (not that I'd know. hehehe!)

Jenny and Kindra...
Natalie and Abbie...
My 2 were so brave! They were not nervous one bit though I thought that they'd be. If you would have seen how freakin fast my bro/bro in law Jake and Stewart went down!...
We think that the quote of the day came from Jake. As he and Stewart were flying down, you could hear him yelling "Oh my.... Stewart!!! We're going to DIE!" Hilarious especially since it was coming from those two!

We of course had to get a train going which gets it going that much FASTER...

The award for those who got the best cardio workout would go to "the guys". They hauled my ace clear up to the top so that I could take part in the amusement! There was NO WAY that I was not going to participate! Come on...you KNOW me!
I will admit. That for one split second at the beginning. I began to freak out when I thought of what could possibly happen but it was so worth it!

There was also no way that Carter and Kindra were just going to let that 4 wheeler sit there with no usage. Yeah right!
My family is the best. I swear! It's moments like these that I wonder how in the heck I could ever possibly think about moving away from them. I'm not saying that the idea is gone but I am saying that it would be hard to be away because I know what I'd be missing! (sorry Lyssa...I know that this isn't helping!)

Jenny and Natalie were the only 2 that really ate it HARD but sooorry Jen...yours was CLASSIC!
I was so proud! Even my Mom went down at one of the smaller sections but WHO CARES! It was the point that she did it and that she will still participate. I love it and it's some more proof of why I'm such a die hard fanatic about never giving in! :)

Just another one of our classic Terry activities that brings us some more continuous laughter! Thanks everyone for taking part and thanks even more for getting my ace up there! :)

The First Real Snowfall Of The Year...Thank Goodness!

Like I said in my last post...we got DUMPED on! I had to make sure that my depression did not suffocate my kids' excitement! They could not wait to get out and play...

The snow wasn't wet enough to pack very well to make a snowman or a fort but that didn't stop them from having fun! Look how cold their rosy cheeks look? I always get so nervous about that! They can totally ignore their freezing-ness or their frost-bitten-ness!

Of course they were fine and of course it's not as bad as I make it out to be buuuuuut still. Snow??? Yuk!!!
