It's Official---

It's official! I am a one year veteran. It's my blog-aversary! It's fun to look back and it really shows you how different and how many changes one year can bring. My kid's have grown up so much and we have really had some great "adventures"!

The interesting thing for me is to wonder how much I have grown up. I know that I have changed but I wonder if it has been for the better or for the worse?!? At times I feel so "on top" but then there are those moments in which I feel so vulnerable, insecure, and confused! I am sure that we each, in our own way, feel like that, but I guess that it's what we learn from it that makes it make more sense........

Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that I turned "1"...... :)

It's That Time Again!!!

This morning when my office phone rang and the voice on the other end asked me where my NCAA bracket was, the thought came that maybe I was "over" it since I did not have it all filled out and ready like I usually do?
That was until I got home and turned on the BYU/TEXAS game! I knew that I was "back" when Carter came into my room worried that I was yelling because I was hurt :) I love it but I do hate that 1) BYU lost like always :( and 2) that Duke won! Even though I picked them to win tonight, I HATE, HATE, HATE Duke!

This One's For You, Horny Butler!

Today I met 3 of my fellow SVU graduates and "girls club" members for a lunch that was full of reminiscing and blog-able moments! Once again they had me "rolling" with laughter and recognizing just how immature and obnoxious I once??? was!So I should probably give you some history about these girls....Thomas is my "Las Vegas Connection" and Heather was part of the SVU "girls club". I did not actually go to school with Emily but she played later with Katie and Heather so she had to endure through our lunch of crazy stories!

I first saw Heather during my last year at SVU as she "rolled" onto the Soccer field. She was a few days late compared to the rest of us who had been required by Du-schelle to be there for early season practice. I was trying to take a team leader standpoint and act all hard core and was at first a little annoyed until I actually met Heather and found out that I could egg her on which always made it more fun! hehehe
Heather was a little more quiet than the rest of us but once you got her laughing there was so stopping it, especially when it came to Leslie or "Boo" as we called her...."Say my name, say my name" or to the trickery tactics of the Terry sisters aka Jenny and I! (This is all for you, Horny Butler and I have to write these memories down that we talked about yesterday)
*getting kicked out of the BV movie theatre for sneaking in water and candy?!?
*one of our trips to Baltimore, freezing our ace's off, and sneaking/sharing one hotel room with 11 people....never again!!!

*"I'm Horny... Horny, Horny, Horny" Heather's theme song! Remember that friend, who no matter where you went, would randomly find some guy to hook up with (with hook up I mean kiss)...that would be Heather!

NOW REMEMBER....All of these events happened almost 10 years ago so the maturity level was significantly lower but it was a time in my life that was AWESOME! There are those of us who have stayed in contact and those who have gone their separate ways but I will never forget these girls!

Patience On St. Patty's Day---

Once again I got this idea from one of my "family activity mentors"... Thanks Jaime! When I envisioned myself getting a potato and easily cutting out a heart stamp, it would be a 2 second process and would be sooo simple......Uhhhhh....Not so much! It took me 3 potato half tries and this is what I ended up with. I was becoming more anal and frustrated but then had to pause and realize...WHO CARES! It does make me laugh to think that I allow myself to get so caught up in it and to want it to all be so perfect... :) Honestly! (I think that I might need some therapy)

Notice the peanut butter, honey, jam, and bread? Gotta love the lazy and tired Mom meals of sandwiches, huh?!?

The end result....
Our "leprechaun day" clovers did not really turn out like anything that even resembled a clover but the kids had fun stamping so once again a fun night! The kids worked on learning how to share and and Mom worked on her patience :) and LOL that it all resulted from a potato!?!

So I Was Bored?!?

Yes...this is a picture of my tweezers though today it became my secret weapon when it came to my activity with Carter! As we were watching a movie, I became extremely bored and began inspecting my son. I noticed every nail that was too long, every freckle on his nose that I love, how he needs a hair cut, looked to see if his ears were clean, and finally I noticed every eyebrow hair that was misplaced and that needed to disappear! hehehe My mind began plotting and planning as to the way that I would connive him upstairs to my bathroom, pull out the tweezers, keep him still, and then start plucking away!

Now, we tried this process once before and it did not turn out so well once I pulled both hair and skin which caused the tears to flow :( I know...I am extreme but it drives me crazy! Ask anyone...they will all admit that I have told them to pluck if they need it! I figure it is better to try this, than to take Carter to get a good brow waxing as a 7 year old among other things, no doubt!

Now, did he sit all still and let me go to town? No...but was I able to get the 5 that were the most important? Yes and without tears, even! We are making progress and were laughing the whole time so that made it worth it because it has been one of "those" days!
