The "Funny" Of The Night!

I finally had gotten the kids settled and put into bed and so I quickly scurried to my TV to begin watching my Sunday evening tradition. It is one of those scandalous Showtime series that I feel I should be confessing about but I have found love and obsession for it (because of the history)! 10 minutes into it, Carter came in and started the questions right in an important part (and it was the season finale)

He asked what it was that I was watching and I barked back the first immature, yet proper, thing that came to mind "Dog Poop"---don't ask!?! He laughed and asked the question again. The name of the program is "The Tudors" and so that is what I said. Again he laughed and called me out. "Huh" I thought and then it hit me. He thought that because I had made a poop reference earlier, I had said "The Tooters" as in fart, gas, toot!

It was then I who laughed and explained "No, with a -D-...The TuDors".

I got a pretty good laugh both at what he had thought and at why it had all began!

"Dog Poop" is far better than what I had really wanted to say! In my family, you just don't come between us and our shows! he he he

Let The Vacation.....BEGIN!

Currently I am sitting on my back porch watching Kindra play in the sandbox and Carter "mow" the lawn (yes...with the real lawnmower but of course he is pretending) I can hear an ice cream truck off in the distance so it must really be summer though the weather thinks differently. I am glad for the sun to have come out the way it did since we had an outside birthday party for Carter this afternoon. I will be posting that later...but Carter had a blast!

I am wearing a long-sleeve shirt but am still shivering so boo on that but am enjoying a quiet, calm, and relaxing afternoon. I have not really spread the news to many but let it be known that my summer vacation has now begun. I put in my notice last week at work so I am officially done! Everyone keeps asking me "So what are you going to do now? Where are you going?" and the answer is nothing! I love it! I have not started to freak out yet so that is a good sign! I thought I might since my adult interaction will now be drastically reduced but no...all I really feel is excitement, curiosity, good fear, and peace.

Excitement because I get to spend the whole summer with my two side-kicks.

Curiosity because I have no idea what this summer will bring...what doors may open up.

Good Fear because I know that it is the kind of feeling that you must have to allow something better to come in!

Peace because I know, know, know that this is what I am supposed to be doing...that this is the best decision for my family right now...why? I don't know why but I will just have to be patient...yeah right but I will at least try!

Day trips, daily activities, nightly activities, schoolwork, sleeping in, playing in the water and sun, getting tan (ok...me wanting to get tan) etc, etc...

This is the first time in my entire mom-hood that I have been able to be a Mom, to stay home, and to be alone when doing it. I was home for 2 years with the kids after my accident but that, in my mind, does not count. My Mom was there.

I hope that I am not rambling but I wanted to share my excitement and to share some of my thoughts!

So if and when you talk to me and I sound like I have been trapped in a house only talking to kids...I have so bare with me and let me bla, bla, bla! I'm still just getting used to it! hehehe

Rain...Rain...Go Away...Or Not?!?

So if you know me at all...then you know that I am a bit of a control/clean freak so when I pulled up in my parents driveway to pick-up the kids and found this...my first thought was "oh hell...my car is going to be destroyed!". But then I paused, looked at my all ready disgustingly dirty car, and just "rolled" :) with it!
Since we pretty much skipped spring and since the kids have been wanting to do this in the rain for awhile, I just laughed and pulled out my ever so trusty camera!

Thanks goodness for our bath and for our washer/dryer is all I have to say cause we sure needed it after this....but they had fun and that's all that matters, right?!?

Carter, The Chimney-Sweeper---

Carter had his end of the school year performance in which they sang songs that were performed in the movie "Mary Poppins". It was way cute.....

Grammy Corbridge also came down to see Carter perform and he had to show off his classroom, of course...

Good Job Carter! You were awesome! :)

The Channel 4 Evening News---

At the end of the taping of Good Things Utah, Angie asked the audience who the biggest Twilight fans were. We could not pass up shouting that we were the biggest fans since I had been involved in the infamous "San Antonio Twilight Party"! Angie and Reagan agreed and I was interviewed! They did not promise anything but told me to watch the 5:30 evening news to see if it had been put on....It was so here it is!

I talked about my trip, what we had done, what my thoughts were on the series, and some of the lessons that I had learned from it all. Of course they cut it a bit and as silly as it was, it was still fun to say that I did it!

How funny to see what we actually look and sound like and I laugh at how I talk with my hands...but that is such a Katie thing huh?!? :)

Carter And His Imagination---

I know that in the past I have talked about Carter and his love for lawnmowers or anything with four wheels but this takes the cake for sheer imagination! I have a wheelchair downstairs that I use when I am in the basement but don't use it when I am sitting on the couch while we are watching TV. Yesterday as I was sitting with Kindra, Carter came whipping down the hall sitting on my chair with the cushion up on the handles like so. Look hard...and you'll see a "sit down riding lawnmower with a connected grass box that's on the back". Such an innocent and extremely creative imagination as he also added to the amusement with his "mowing sounds". You can tell in the picture by the way his lips and cheeks look! hahaha We were in for quite the show and I don't mean from the TV! I love it!
