Nerd Alert...Nerd Alert

Yes. Yes. I am a history nerd...BIG TIME!!! I just get sucked right in. I will say that I really do think there was a mistake made when it was decided that I should be born in this country and in the year 1977. I SWEAR! My Mom laughs as she tells me that I would have just been a "commoner" or a "peasant" but I disagree. You know old Katie and what Katie puts her heart and soul into...KATIE FINDS A WAY FOR IT TO HAPPEN in one form or another. SO with that being said, I would have been JUUUUST FINE. (even if the problems would have been the exact same!)

"Privilege & Scandal" is a much better book than "Princesses" but they are both very interesting and a good read if you LOVE history about that era like I do.....

...and FYI. Yes. The problems, the temptations, the issues, the "everythings" are all still THE SAME and history really does have a way of just repeating itself over and over and over again. Seriously? When will we ever LEARN?!?!?

We don't realize the "Heros" that we have living right around us. You can't help but be humbled when you see this! Thanks for another example of someone who has not given up when life gets hard.....

Happy Birthday My Oogily Boogily!!!

I love reading and re-reading this story over and over again every year on Kindra's birthday. I can't believe that it has already been 7 yrs because it literally feels like yesterday. Really! Days like today are the ones when I just sit back and watch her still in amazement that she was sent to me! I need her imagination to keep me young, though days like today also remind me just how old I am getting...just how old I am feeling! LOL I need her excitement with life to keep rubbing off on me. I need her hilarious actions and comments to keep a smile on my face!
I love feeling the love that she brings to our family!
I'll post pics of the weekend after all of the activities are over but for now I'll leave you with this reminder of how it all began.......

Meet The Teacher Night and First Day Of School 2009

Kindra was not as excited to get back to school as Carter was. She wanted to "stay home with Mom" and do fun girl things! Truth be told, even though I talked a big game about both kids finally being gone all day, I was going to miss them! We had such a great Summer and were sad for it to be over. After the first week of them being back to school, my house was clean, the "to do list" was checked off, my mini projects were done, and my sleep schedule was back on "grown up" time again. I did not know what to do with myself!!! And the worst part was that whoever I called to complain about it to...they were not hearing it or giving me any kind of sympathy!?! LOL

Wow. WOW. Is it already the middle of January? Really. How can it be!?! The past 6 months went by sooo fast. Way too fast in fact. It makes perfect sense, the saying "Time flies when you're having fun!" because we sure did. Life involved sleeping in, cartoons, cereal, sun, water, and complete bliss. Have I said it enough times yet that I LOVE SUMMER or at least that I LOVE THE WARMTH OF THE SUN?!? (ie...I LOVE BEING TAN!?! LOL hehehe)

I did not mean to get behind with the blog but it was impossible to find the time, or it was impossible to find the desire, or Facebook took over, or another blog took over, or last but not least, all of the above?!?

I've thought alot about 2010 and the way that it will turn out. It's amazing how things have just happened to work out for the best even when I had hoped it would be different. Through it all I have learned alot! Alot about the type of Mother I will be. Alot about the type of woman I want to be and the things that I want to achieve. Alot about the type of friend I want to be. I have set great goals and made big plans and to be honest, I am hopeful that they are ideas that are within my reach. But we'll see....?

So here's to a new year and here's to all it's endless possibilities!!!!
