i found this bedspread while on a "search" for something else and instantly fell in love with it! i was determined to be a little crafty and "make" a lamp that would work with this color scheme. it also helped that my little sister was there to guide me since she is the queen magician of crafty. she reminded me that in fact, it was i who had once been her example on being crafty and chic!? yes. that comment made my day! :)
i had saved some of my grandma's old lamps thinking that maybe, maybe one day they would come in handy. miraculously they did! i started out with a dull and boring green and knew that this color was not going to work. it was nothing but blah....
i LOVE this key decoration...
that's when lyssa dared me to go and be bold. very bold and i took her dare...
now that's what i call ktkt perfection and i was so excited with how it turned out!
but wait. you mean spray paint not only goes on what you're painting?! it actually paints the cement?! oh shizzer!? i'm in trouble...
off to the store and the cleaning began! lol...seriously?! am i a nerd or what?!
scrub a dub dub. please come clean!!!
now to the lamp shade...
and the glue gun! i found this awesome material that does not fray and it was perfect...
it was literally cut and glue. and again i instantly fell in love with what i had just made! me, myself, and i! ok fine. lyssa helped me too :)
one lamp down and one lamp shade to go. i found this idea online. it's one of "anthropologies" so i was excited to take on the challenge...
i bought, cut, and ironed the berber...
the before...
i began to randomly glue on the strips of berber and tried to be as creative as possible and not let my OCD tendencies get involved!?
all done! all three projects finished in 1 day. i was surprised at how easy they were to create once you found and had the examples that you love!
i think it turned out pretty well considering it was my first go at this "lifestyle"!
but my favorite of all is THIS lamp. i am in absolute love and it all completely "flows" in my new room!
anyway, i just had to share with you my mini crafty chic projects because fine, I LOVE THEM!!! and i have found a new love for spray paint, that dang paint remover (that worked by the way) and my glue gun! where have they been my whole life?!? lol...

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who needs to read "spray paint for dummies" before using it. I painted a kitchen table BLACK in my garage last month. Yep, my garage floor is black, along with bikes, bins, etc... Classic.

holy crapola. i didn't know katie! Wow! i hear all the time at how people love their spray paint, blah, blah and i always feel too overwhelm to attempt it. but you just gave me a new boost of confidence. you can show me now!!
