ahhhhh. finally something great on the tv that i actually learned a few things from
"my father was a kind of miracle of integrity and gentleness and shyness somewhat and dedicated purpose and fun. how you get all of those things in a man who grew up on a remote farm in kentucky? there was no reason to think he would get to college. he fought his way to become educated and to love knowledge. nothing, nothing was ever worth waking up and saying i'm not the person that i wanted to be. i still think that my dad still had the most beautiful simple check list for what you should do in life. and when i had no clue of what i wanted to do he simply said... 1. do something that you love
2. do it is the most adventurous place that you can
3. and do it if you think that it will genuinely help people
he said that if it fits into that checklist, then do it! and so i did...."

this was so interesting. to see the love that shown in her eyes as she spoke about her father. i can only hope and pray that one day in the future when i'm old and senile, that my kids will have their own fond, special, and loving memories about me in this same way. this same kind of tribute.
so today, i've been thinking about what my "list" of 3 things would be. and for fun i thought i'd write them down...
1. pick a career that you love based on your heart, not on your wallet :)
2. look for the positive or the fun in everything
3. don't just complain about something in your life that you don't like, change it and learn from it
