Happy Valentines Day!

I just want you to notice that I am the ONLY car that is on the road and this is after I have all ready been in the car for 2 hours driving home. I weaseled around the long way to bypass the closed roads and actually felt a little unsure because there was NO ONE else along side me!?! I finally saw a car parked on the side of the road with her hazard lights on and discovered that she was lost, could not see because it was a white out and had lived in the country for 6 months and knew little English. I discovered where she lived and offered her a ride home, which I did because it makes me feel a little better about my short-comings, I hope that someone would do the same for me, and more than anything, human and Christ-like compassion. It makes me feel good to know that I can and will perform acts like this :) These pics do not give it justice but it was a complete white-out and amazing, people trapped and stuck in their cars! Thank goodness for my four wheel drive that's for sure!!!

FYI I just love my kids so much that I finished their Valentine's for them and it is 12:30am, my head is going to exploid, my day was horrible, and I am now past the sleeping window! Sucks to be me but I remember just how important these days are especially at this age. At least I don't have to worry about Highschool, Valograms, and the lack of delivered roses!?! :)

Waaaaaay Too Much Fun :(

Here we are...one big unhappy family! No, just kidding but I swear this is what we looked like! I got the bath ready for Carter and Kindra, with the bubbles and all. They jumped in and got all washed. I let them stay in for a bit to play. Bad move on my part!

I went into my bedroom to hang some clothes up, occasionaly checking in on them to make sure that all was ok. They are big enough to not get hurt...get into trouble but hopefully not get hurt. I heard them laughing and just having a good time. I swear, to myself, I thought of just how happy I was that they are best friends and can have fun with each other! I was laughing to myself and thanking my lucky stars that they are growing and becoming self sufficient. BAAAAD MOVE!

I heard the first splash and it did not register until I heard the second splash. Huh? I was confused and yelled if they were ok. "YES" was the answer that came back. Splash Splash! What the - ? But the voice in my head knew exactly what was going to be the scene when I went in there and sure enough....There was water everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE! Covering the floor, on the walls, on the toilet, on the counter. I completely freaked out...yelling at the top of my lungs and asking them what they were doing? "We are having fun and we are playing water-board", Kindra said. Ok, fine...water-board is clever but come on! They were throwing cups of water to see who could make it the farthest and splash the most. I was so pissed! Who are they, how old are they? They know that you just don't do that! "But we're having fun and I am sorry but it was fun", Kindra said. "I'm sorry Mom", came out of Carter's mouth. "We don't do things just because they are fun, we do things that are fun AND that are the right choice", I yelled back. Needless to say, they got out, got their pajamas on, and were sent to bed! It was a pain but was easily mopped and cleaned up with towels.

I called Trevor after they were in bed because I was so flustered. I love that my kid's can have fun but there are the times like this when they throw caution into the wind and do something crazy that I freak! I hate getting mad at them but I must when I am trying to teach them a lesson. When they say sorry, I always accept the apology but how long do you remain angry? I don't want my kids thinking that I am always mad at them because it will make them believe that they can never talk to me! But why do they make more work than what needs to be done? This always happens when I am sick too and that just makes it worse! Overall, my kids are the best "helpers and jobbers" and I am so lucky for that but it is the moment's like last night that just blow me out of the water! Literally this time!

PS Don't forget that I am sick and that my spellcheck is not working so :(

Bowling or Insanity---I'm Not Sure Which?!?

Carter requested to go bowling when it is the "summer" time but as I thought about it yesterday, bowling is a perfect "winter" activity so I surprised them with this being our FHE activity! (as did the rest of the city of American Fork!) While we were impatiently waiting, the kids played with some of the arcade games and I just had to ssshhh the thoughts that were going through my head of what other children and germs had touched those machines!?!

Kindra had to show off some of her bowling skills to me as she waited. "See Mom, this is how you have to do it!" and she was so worried about me not being able to participate because "you need legs, Mom"?!?

...still impatiently waiting...

...aaaand were off!

Carter of course with the green ball and...
...Kindra with the purple!
Kindra made us wait behind the line so that she could do it ALL by herself. Oh boy!
The kids had a lot of fun...Mom and Dad were having anxieties but had fun seeing them smile! Carter ended off with two spares which made him very proud and excited. Mom even got in a little spat with a woman who needed to mind her own business when Carter accidently dropped a bowling ball that landed 10 feet away from her almost broken foot :) W. T. classic!

Before we were able to get on a lane, the enviroment was very uncontrolable and I was beginning to freak out a little in my head and begged the kids to go home and make our own bowling alley. It, of course, did not happen and there were times when I asked myself why it is that I try to plan things like this?!? I talked myself into becoming a hermit in my house with my kids by my side. It had it's moments, I stayed calm on the outside, and we ended up having fun! As we were driving away Carter asked "Did I do good Mom, did I bowl good Mom" and I positively replied "YES you did!" He then added "Oh Mom, Dad, I just love you so much. Thanks for taking us bowling!" I looked at Trevor, smiled and commented that it's because of praise like that, that we do these things! I needed to hear that and to be humbled like that. I need to learn to give a *$#$&*# less what people think and to only care about what my kids think and about the memories they will have on how their Mom reacted and the attitude that she had. It was an eye opening experience that I needed to have...and to think...at the "Jack and Jill's Bowling Alley" in good old AF?!?

Our Own Kind of Games on Superbowl Sunday---but still NYG 17 - NE 14!

Look how cute my Kinny is!!! I know...of course the only Sunday that I get her hair curled, the meetings are canceled :( go figure! But that does not really matter because look how gorgeous she is! hehehe ...with her little bird legs...and I had to show off her hair because this event is soooo rare!
This pic was all completely her....promise!

I fully admit to just how boring that we really are...instead of watching football on Superbowl Sunday, we played "Candyland" and with their bike/tv game!

Instense concentration coming from Kindra :)
I did however get to the TV for the last 2 minutes of the football game and was able to get exactly what I needed to get out of the game. For the record, I am so glad that the Giants did win and pull off this upset. I am a fan of Ely Manning :) so sorry you New England fans...waaah haaaah! PS My spell check is acting up so bear ....JK... bare with me! ;)

WAAAAAAAH!!! More Snow!

I have not seen this much snow in years! Seriously the piles on the sides of our driveway are taller than the kids! They even canceled church meetings today and that NEVER happens so it must really be bad! I even had Mike go down and take a picture of John-Charles's car so that he could see how much of the snow that he IS NOT missing! So JC...this one's for you!
Of course Carter could not wait to get outside to help the neighborhood shovel and snow-blow! The neighbor's just laugh!---
...and Kindra, staying inside and warm once again and pigging out just like her Mom! :)

Just MY Luck...

My day did not start out so great since my car battery was DEAD! I left the back hatch open AGAIN and the battery died AGAIN so it was completely my fault but still...suck! Once I called my good friends over at AAA to have them come jump it, I got into a better mood by blasting my radio and listening to another one of my favorite CD's...Imogen Heap. I have to be all smiles today because........
.....iiiiiit's baaaaack! You have no idea how happy I am and my anxieties even began again as I was watching it last night! The only thing that still causes hurt in my heart is the lack of Charlie!!! But we will see what the night brings-----
