HE is one of my favorites. i'm serious. and THIS is hanging above my fireplace. it has a very personal spiritual symbolic meaning. going HERE is on my bucket list so when i found out that they were bringing some of his works to the BYU MUSEUM OF ARTS, i was ecstatic. the probability of me going HERE is very slim so i could not pass this opportunity up.

we invited the parents to go with us as well. you know. the family bonding adventures that we all could use some more of...
i said "silly face" and he did a "cute face" so we had to do it again. and yes. for me? it's time to come up with a new one! lol
now that's a better "silly face". we all need a little "funny" time to keep our spirits young, right?!?we are so glad that we went and even more amazed at what a truly inspirational artist that carl bloch is. he was very ahead of his time. the way that he was able to use the colors and the shadows to draw attention to what he wanted your eyes to concentrate on. the way he was able to paint the white "light of christ" to magnitude his greatness. wow. something that if given the chance to see, you must. i love art! i love to compare and contrast different painters and how they, in their own way, depict what they believed to be the most important or how they were able to portray different feelings of emotion. it takes me back to my summer of 1998 while studying art history in italy. things that you must see to fully understand how inspired these artists truly were. for them to be able to master such wonderfully needed works of art.
just trying to do and see something a little different.....

i know how excited you were about this. so happy you got to go. did you ever find out about that CD inspired by his artwork?!
