The Story of The Knees cont...

remember when i broke the news about this? well we now know what the plan is and what the extent of the operation will be. kindra was so funny with the doctors and with the many questions that she asked them. chatter-box. i wonder where she get's it? wink wink
this doctor was actually one of her nurses back when she was born and while she was at primary childrens. adrienne was in her last year of medical school. we actually knew her before that because she had worked at the front desk where we got our hair done. again, small world. lol
when she came in the room, she said "katie?" i nervously replied "yeeeees?" and then she made the connection. it was fun for her to be able to see kindra, 8 yrs later. i've often wondered about those nurses who were so great and where they're now at. i wish that i'd kept better tabs so that they can see what their efforts have produced.
though one day she will kill me, i had to post this of her. she had just woken up and was still very groggy. lol. all she wanted to eat was some "in n out" french fries but you can see how much they were actually eaten. awesome....
the operation will be on january 26th and they will be able to operate on both knees at the same time. she will be in the hospital for 4 days and she'll need 3 months of down time. 1 month in casts, no walking. 1 month in boots, able to walk minimally. 1 month of physical therapy. it's going to be quite the project, figuring how i am going to get her from the bed and to the bathroom. we'll have to get her a wheelchair for sure. kindra and i might even have to move up to my parents for the month so that my mom can help me out. it's going to be more a trial and error situation but i'm not even about to risk her health when it comes to me giving in a bit when it comes to my pride.
anyway. this little adventure will definitely give me more to talk about and yes. let's just end with a "to be continued" :)
